Game Features

3. Decide how much you want to wager: 50-cents, $1 or $5 per play. The more you wager, the higher the potential prize.

  • Straight/Box can be played only for $1 or $5.
  • Combo tickets cost 3 to 6 times the single play amount, depending upon the numbers selected.

The Drawing

Pick 3 drawings are held daily except for Christmas Day and Easter Sunday. Make sure you buy your tickets for each Pick 3 drawing by 9:30 p.m. on the day of the drawing. Tickets purchased after 9:30 p.m. on drawing nights will be valid for the next drawing(s). Pick 3 winning numbers are displayed on Official Draw Show stations every night and updated on this website.

How Multidraw Works

Save time by playing your numbers for multiple drawings. You can play 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 14 consecutive drawings. When you claim a prize, you’ll receive an Exchange ticket for the balance of the drawings remaining.

How Advance Play Works

Play any day in the future through the next six days. When you play multidraw, your play will start on the advance play day you choose or the next drawing if you don’t.

Ways to Play

No. State law prevents the sale of Louisiana Lottery products through the Internet. Only licensed retailers are legally authorized to sell Louisiana Lottery tickets.

Yes! The multidraw features on the Lottery’s draw-style games allows players to purchase plays for multiple drawings, up to 14 for Pick 3 and Pick 4 and up to 20 for Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto and Easy 5. If you win a prize during one of the drawings, you do not have to wait until the last drawing has occurred before collecting those winnings. When you cash a winning multidraw ticket with drawings still remaining, the Lottery’s terminal system will print out an exchange ticket good for the balance of the remaining drawings and with the same numbers as on your original ticket. The retailer will retain the original ticket as it is no longer valid and give your exchange ticket with your winnings.

Winning scratch-off tickets can be claimed up to 90 days following the closure of the game. A list of closed games and end-of-redemption dates can be found on this website. Winning draw-style game tickets can be claimed up to 180 days following the drawing in which the prize was won.

All of the Lottery’s games are games of chance. Drawing games are conducted using random number generation. This means that every number combination has an EQUAL chance of being selected for every drawing, REGARDLESS of whether or not it was drawn in the past. If number combinations that had been drawn in the past were removed from play, the game would be unfair. Even assuming that number combinations could be eliminated, it would take 1,000 drawings, or 2.8 years, for every possible Pick 3 combination to be drawn. For Pick 4, it would take 10,000 drawings or 28 years.

When a prize is claimed it becomes the property of that individual, even if the prize is paid out as an annuity. Hence, all winnings become a part of the estate of the deceased.

The winning numbers or results of Powerball, Lotto, Pick 3 and Pick 4 drawings are broadcast beginning at 9:59 p.m on the following television stations. Mega Millions drawings are broadcast at 10:00 p.m. on the following TV stations, except for WVUE-FOX8 where it airs at the top of the first commercial break of the hour.

Powerball: Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m.

Mega Millions: Tuesdays and Fridays at 10 p.m.

Pick 3 & Pick 4: Daily at 9:59 p.m., except Easter Sunday and Christmas Day. There are no Louisiana-based drawings on Christmas Day or Easter. Drawings for the multistate games, Powerball and Mega Millions, will be conducted should Christmas fall on a draw day. Tickets must be purchased by 9:00 p.m. on the draw date for Powerball and Mega Millions, and by 9:30 p.m. on the draw date for Pick 3, Pick 4, Lotto and Easy 5 to be eligible for that drawing.

Pick 4 was introduced March 1, 1999 with daily drawings.

On occasion, certain popular Pick 3 and Pick 4 numbers may “sell out” and cannot be purchased. Unlike other draw-style Lottery games, Pick 3 and Pick 4 pay out an established prize regardless of how many tickets are winners. In order to adequately fund these fixed prizes, the Lottery establishes a prize liability limit on these games and restricts sales of tickets for such drawings if the liability limit would be exceeded by the drawing of any particular numbers. Liability limits usually take effect when a large number of people have chosen a certain number, such as 9-1-1 after the Sept. 11 terrorist attack or 2-0-0-0 when the millennium ended. There is no need for sales restrictions on Easy 5, Lotto, Mega Millions and Powerball numbers, since jackpots are pari-mutuel, meaning the jackpot is divided equally among all its winners.

How to Play

It’s as easy as 1-2-3!

Playing PICK 3 ™ is easy. It’s the game where you can play today and get paid today. You can win a top prize of $500 with a $1 Straight play, or increase your chances of winning with a Box, Straight/Box, Combo, or Pairs play. There are so many options to try! Simply select your lucky numbers and play it your way any day – twice a day. Midday and evening drawings offer two chances to play – and win!

To play, pick up a PICK 3 playslip at an authorized Florida Lottery retailer or use your Florida Lottery mobile app to create a playslip.

To Play at a Retailer

Each playslip contains five panels (A-E). In each panel played:

1. Select one number (from 0 through 9) from each column for a total of three digits, or mark the QP (Quick Pick) box and let the terminal randomly pick some or all of your numbers. For a Front Pair play, select a number from the first two columns only; for a Back Pair play, select a number from the last two columns only.

2. Select the play type: Straight, Box, Straight/Box, Combo, Front Pair, or Back Pair.

3. Select the amount you want to play: $0.50 or $1 (all Straight/Box plays cost $1; Combo plays cost $1.50 to $6.00).

4. Add FIREBALL ® for more chances to win. Adding FIREBALL doubles the price of your base play ticket and applies to all panels.

5. Select the draw time. Select MID for the midday drawing (1:30 p.m., ET), EVE for the evening drawing (9:45 p.m., ET), or BOTH for both the midday and evening drawings. If no draw time is marked, the terminal will automatically print a ticket for the next available draw. If BOTH is selected, two separate tickets will print – one for the midday drawing and one for the evening drawing.

6. To Advance Play the same numbers and play types up to 14 consecutive days for the selected draw time(s), simply mark the number in the “Days” section on your playslip.

7. Give your completed playslip and payment to the retailer. You will receive a ticket for each set of selected numbers and draw date(s). Please check your ticket(s) before you leave the store. You are responsible for the accuracy of your ticket(s).

6. Select the draw time. Select MID for the midday drawing (1:30 p.m., ET), EVE for the evening drawing (9:45 p.m., ET), or BOTH for both the midday and evening drawings. If no draw time is marked, the mobile app will automatically choose the next available draw time. If BOTH is selected, two separate tickets will be selected – one for the midday drawing and one for the evening drawing.

7. Select the amount you want to play: $0.50 or $1 (all Straight/Box plays cost $1; Combo plays cost $1.50 to $6.00).

How to Win

Unlike the Lottery’s other Draw games, which are pari-mutuel in design (that is, players are vying for a portion of what is in the prize pool), PICK 2, PICK 3, PICK 4, and PICK 5 offer set prize payouts. Therefore, the Lottery has established a $8 million liability limit for PICK 3 for any particular three-digit number for each drawing. Should any three digit combination (for example 777) be purchased often enough in a single drawing that would result in the liability limit being exceeded, the Lottery will “cut off” further sales of that specific number combination. In addition, no Front Pair or Back Pair that involves the first two or last two digits, respectively, of the three-digit number will be allowed for that drawing. Players that have already played those numbers will still win the full amount of the set prize even if the liability limit has been met. For more details on this issue, please refer to the Pick 3 game rule, section (1)(i).

*Examples above use $1 PICK 3 plays. Combo play examples are $3 and $6 plays.
