Big Sky Bonus

Big Sky Bonus is a daily Montana Lottery game with big odds of winning!

The starting jackpot is a guaranteed $2,000 and is progressive, so it keeps increasing until someone wins. The cost per play is $2.00 and you can play up to five times on one playslip.

To play, choose four numbers from 1 to 28 (white balls) and one Big Sky Bonus number from 1 to 17. You can pick your favorite numbers or have Quick Pick randomly generate them for you.

You win the jackpot if you match all four regular numbers (white balls). If you match the Big Sky Bonus number, it’s worth an extra $10.

Draws take place daily at 7:30 PM Mountain Time. Tickets may be purchased up to two minutes before the drawing (7:28 PM). The Multiple Draws option lets you play up to seven consecutive drawings.

The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 6.92.

Prizes and Odds of Winning Big Sky Bonus

To win the jackpot, you need to match all four white balls – but you can win a prize just by matching two or more numbers, or the Big Sky Bonus number by itself.

Jackpot prizes are divided equally between multiple winning tickets.

The set prize amounts are based on the expected number of winners sharing the prize pool. However, if the number of winners and the available prize pool varies, set prizes may be paid on a parimutuel basis and may be lower than stated.

About the Montana Lottery

The Montana Lottery was created officially in 1986 with the passage of Legislative Referendum 100. The first tickets went on sale on June 24, 1987, and Montanans were clearly excited to play – a record-setting 1.1 million tickets were sold on the very first day.

Since the 90s, MT Lottery revenue has gone back into the State General Fund, which funds the majority of state programs, including public health and education, and government. Nearly $260 million has been generated for the state by the MT Lottery since its inception, and more than $590 million has been paid out in prize money.
