TAMPA, FL — He didn’t win the big $394 million Powerball jackpot Wednesday. However, a Tampa resident is $2 million richer after matching all five of the white ball numbers in the Powerball drawing on July 31.

This week, Antonio Machado, 32, came forward to claim his $2 million prize. Machado purchased his winning Quick Pick ticket from Duckweed Urban Grocery, 117 N. 12th St. in Tampa. The retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Powerball ticket.

In the meantime, the Florida Lottery announced that the single winner of the $394 million Powerball jackpot announced Wednesday is from Florida.

That person has yet to come forward but the Florida Lottery said the winning numbers were 9-12-15-31-60 and the Powerball was 2. The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven, 4520 Bonita Beach Road in Bonita Springs. The retailer will receive $100,000 for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.

Since Nov. 6, the jackpot rolled over 24 times and generated more than $33 million in contributions to the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.

The Florida Powerball jackpot winner has 180 days from the Jan. 29 drawing to claim the prize. However, to elect the one-time, lump-sum cash payment option (in the amount of $274.6 million), the claim must be filed within 60 days after the winning draw date.

Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing also produced one $1 million winner. The $1 million winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased at M&S Food Store, 4400 West Sample Road in Coconut Creek. The retailer will receive $1,000 for selling the winning ticket.
